The Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) has been selecting athletes who exhibit outstanding athletic ability to receive the Honor Of Being Named An All-American for 114 years. Some of the athletes to be named an AAU All-American are:

Shaquille O'Neal - Basketball, Keri Struggs - Gymnastics, Dan Gable - Wrestling, Carl Lewis - Track, Anfernee Hardaway - Basketball, Jackie Joyner-Kersee - Track, and many more.

Inline hockey has been a medal sport for 5 years and at each AAU Junior Olympic Games the AAU Hockey All-American Team has been selected to honor

 the athletes who exhibit the athleticism and leadership to be namded an All-American
